Viddler Launches Video Commenting for Wordpress
Video sharing site Viddler has launched the public release of their Wordpress video commenting plugin today. This allows anyone with a Wordpress blog to not only offer text comments but now more interactive video comments. This is quite innovative and could continue to help set Viddler apart from the other video hosting companies. I find that Viddler has more innovative features than any other video host currently available including YouTube.
It’s like a better version of Seesmic because it allows me as the author to provide text and let users reply in their choice of text or video. Now they need to enable mobile access somehow so if a user reads a post on a mobile rss device, they can easily reply with a video reply. The videos play in a mini-Viddler window inside of the Wordpress blog.
Currently the plugin is only available for Wordpress but I have demanded a Drupal version!

This could be really beneficial for both parties (Wordpress & Viddler). We wonder if the YouTube monster will do the same? Wordpress is certainly the blog platform to introduce new ideas on…that’s for sure!
I love it! I wish I had a big WP blog to install it. I’ve been a Viddler fan for a long time, because the inline tagging and commenting is a feature that any video site should have. Being able to go back in and comment exactly at a point is awesome, although I do wonder how meta a blog post can get in this fashion. ;)
Thanks for the write up, and compliments of Viddler. There is much more in store (as always) but we’re really happy to have gotten this out and into the hands of our user’s and Wordpress community.
