White-Label Social Networking Provider VMIX Secures $16.5 Million in Venture Funding
White-Label social networking provider VMIX has secured $16.5 million in funding from JK&B Capital and ATA Ventures. I am guessing some might be wondering who the heck VMIX is. Usually when we think white-labeled social networking, we think of the consumer-facing tools such as Ning, KickApps and Magnify.net. KickApps and Magnify.net are NY-based.
VMIX has a destination site but it appears their corporate focused tools are their core. VMIX powers close to 200 media brands which means they handle the back-end programming. They handle both Web and mobile functionality and recently signed a deal with NBC.
Greg Kostello, chairman and CEO of VMIX Media said, "Our customers today, including Tribune Interactive, Media General, Lee Enterprises, are leveraging their brands by integrating video, rich media and social networking features into their websites, and the VMIX CORE platform allows them to do so quickly and easily."
