Web Applications Developer

Responsibilities:

* Work with web UI designer in developing rich, responsive user experience

* Implement web architecture of multi-faceted, dynamic website with social networking, online commerce, and gaming components

* Resolve issues related to scalability, security, and integration of diverse technologies

Requirements:

* Expert-level experience writing applications for the web, with an emphasis on rich sites that support login and personalization; we need someone who can help us build something above and beyond a simple database-backed site

* 2+ years of Java experience, or 4+ years of experience in a web application language that can be tightly integrated with Java, such as Ruby, JRuby or PHP

Preferred Technical Requirements:

* Experience working with design and back-end development teams; creating a process for integration of input from both teams

* Expert-level experience programming web applications in Java, with an emphasis on JSP & Servlets

* Some experience with designing for the web, including best practices for cross-browser support

* Experience with an enterprise-grade web application framework such as Spring, Struts, or JavaServer Faces

* Experience designing rich UIs for the web using AJAX

* Experience working with databases or persistence frameworks such as Hibernate

* Meticulous attention to detail

* Appreciation of varied, personal style, and mainstream trends and sub-cultures

* Be organized and work effectively under deadlines

* Ability to take direction to meet creative and business needs

* Capacity to evaluate own work, as well as to accept feedback and redirect own work with limited supervision

* Enjoy working in an organic atmosphere of creativity, passion, and drive
