Web Content Producer – New York
Few organizations can keep up with the fast-paced, 24/7 nature of today’s media coverage; even fewer can claim to have helped shape it. Bloomberg has long been a leading source of data and news and presents one of the most challenging environments in financial journalism. Bloomberg offers a unique opportunity to produce real-time stories that shape the markets and our world. Our more than 2,200 reporters and editors in 130 bureaus around the globe cover markets and break news for 250,000-plus Bloomberg clients and hundreds of the world’s biggest newspapers.
Bloomberg News is seeking a Web Content Producer/Operations specialist with experience in video and audio editing for Bloomberg.com, our award-winning web site focused on business and financial news. The position requires knowledge of Web programming environments and computer-based tools and applications. It is essential that applicants have familiarity with Internet best practices, Web 2.0 trends, and emerging technologies, including networking, syndication, tagging, blogging, search engine optimization, Ajax, and others. Responsibilities of the role include preparing, submitting, monitoring, and maintaining media content (text, images, slideshows, audio and video clips) on tight deadlines for the Bloomberg.com web site. This would include skills in content development and management, and would require the ability to write, modify, and maintain essential site code. The person in this role would also be required to produce video and graphics, as well as audio packages for mobile, downloadable, and streaming content, and should have the ability to work comfortably on both PC and MAC platforms.
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent experience, along with a minimum of three to five years of experience in web production/operations and management. In order to be considered for the role, all candidates must submit a resume with live Web links that demonstrate how he/she contributed significantly to the conception, usability, and execution of sites. Candidates should also submit a brief demonstration reel or samples showcasting video and audio skills in a news environment.
Qualifications:
-Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
-Three to five years of experience in Internet/New Media production, content management, and web design
-Knowledge of digital media production skills required in audio and video from the following: Pro Tools audio, Sony Vegas audio and video, Final Cut video, and Flash.

-News writing, reporting, and/or copy editing experience is a plus
