Web Designer

Clorox’s award-winning internal design department is seeking a talented Web graphic designer to join its team. This is a contractor position on-site in downtown Oakland.

We are seeking someone who has a passion for outstanding design and loves to find innovative ways to build their designs using standards-compliant XHTML and CSS. You will design Web sites, ad banners, HTML newsletters and more in a fun atmosphere with talented professionals who thrive on teamwork.

Clorox has over 35 brands (all of which are household names), so you will be able to apply your experience across many categories: laundry, cleaning, automotive, water filtration, cat litter, food, personal products and more. Your responsibilities will be varied to keep things interesting, and the work hours are rarely long.

Required Skills:

Strong design skills using Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator

Thorough understanding of designing for the Web

The ability to think through user experience and build easy-to-use user interfaces

Expert XHTML and CSS hand-coding skills, must be able to hand-code to Web standards, separating content from style (tableless coding is a must)

Experience developing for modern browsers and degrading sites gracefully for older ones

Flash experience preferred

Working knowledge of Javascript and PHP a bonus
