Magnetic, an Internet development company founded in 1997, seeks an experienced and highly-qualified Web Designer. As a Web Designer for Magnetic, you will be responsible for designing the user interface for web sites and web-based applications. The ideal candidate will be an innovative web site designer with experience in graphic arts and a strong working knowledge of designing for e-commerce and corporate web sites. The ideal candidate should be well spoken, have excellent time management skills, and be comfortable working within budget and deadline constraints.

Responsibilities:
• Designing the user interface of e-commerce and corporate web sites by translating brand, business strategies and requirements into effective, cohesive design solutions.
• Managing and updating web site content on existing client web sites.
• Supporting our team with the design and production of new web sites.
• Work effectively with other disciplines (User Experience, Production, and Project Management) to develop cohesive solutions that exceed our client’s expectations and meet the needs and desires of the user.
• Collaborates with and supports the needs of project team members.
• Deliver projects on budget, on strategy, on specification, and on time.
• Ability to multi-task; Can-do attitude; Organized; Detail-oriented.
Qualifications:
• Minimum of 1-3 years experience in designing and developing web sites, logos, and print media.
• Corporate web design experience, including the design and development of e-commerce web sites.
• Excellent portfolio of work.
• Excellent design skills.
• Excellent knowledge of current web design best practices.
• Proficiency in the following applications: Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe ImageReady, Flash, Adobe Dreamweaver and/or other HTML editing software .
• Knowledge of and experience with technologies used in web site front-ends, including but not limited to HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Experience with Flash.
• Ability to scope out next generation web technologies and trends with a goal of keeping the company on pace with technical advancements in the field.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Initiative, creativity, and attention to detail.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong analytical and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent time management skills.
