Weewar Opens Its WeeDoors – Social Casual Gaming
by Allen Stern on February 13th, 2008
If you’ve been waiting for a chance to play Weewar, they have just announced it’s no longer in private beta. It’s a "social casual game" meaning that you play with others. Think Risk plus Twitter plus IRC plus SimCity.
There’s also an API for you developer-types along with a variety of 3rd party services to make sure you know what’s going on in the game at all times.
NOTE: This is a massive time suck – so do not click the link unless you have 1-2 hours to kill :)
Here is an example map:

Same here — when I played before a lot of time was spent finding players and/or waiting for them to move.
How about instead of a single player version, they allow “community controlled” opponents, allowing anyone (other than the people in the actual game) to control a “community controlled” player in any game for as long as they wish.
They have a lot of work to do, I wanted to love this but I found it was way to hard to get a game going and the design does not make it straight forward to get a game going.
I think they want to look at creating a single player version which I know is damn hard but this really needs something.
Once the game started the interface was fine but I think they need to be able to setup to be played via email like back in the day.
