There are plenty of hacker/developer/geek groups in town. I’m actively involved with the St. Louis LUG (http://stllinux.org), St. Louis UNIX Users Group (http://sluug.org), and the St. Louis Ruby group (http://stlruby.org). There are also quite a few other local LUGs, Java UGs, etc. If you join the SLUUG ANNOUNCE mailing list, you’ll receive a weekly listing of a lot of them.
