Wordpress.com Down?
We've received several anonymous reports over the past 10-15 minutes that Wordpress.com is down. Testing the site now from multiple locations, it does appear to be down.
I have checked about 10 known sites using the Wordpress.com hosted Wordpress blogging tool and all appear to be functioning normally. What I am unsure about is whether posting to a wordpress.com site is working.
Please report in if you are hosted on wordpress.com and are experiencing any issues.

Update 2:51 Eastern: Wordpress.com is back up - apparently there was a DOS attack last night. From Wordpress:
"Yes, currently wordpress.com is still under a relatively large Denial of Service attack. While we work to mitigate the situation, we have temporarily disabled the site so that it does not affect the availability of your blogs."
Yes it is down.
At about 8:20 am I checked my blog and wordpress was fine. went out did a few things, came back 2 hours later and It's been down, About an hour and a half now. I'll keep an eye out and let you know if it comes back up. Hopefully sooner rather than later.

It appears the main wordpress page (http://www.wordpress.com) is down. But my blog (hosted on wordpress.com) is working fine.
hi, I just checked www.wordpress.com and i found it down, but all the blogs are available and working. i guess main page got some technical problem.
I also have a wordpress.com blog, which is up. The main domain is down, including tag lookups, but subdomains (the blogs) are up at this time.
It's been going on for a bit now, and it may prove to be something small like upgrading servers.
But the main site is actually down!
my blog at wordpress is working but wordpress.com is down even at 18:00 GMT :(
My blog is not down, but wordpress.com is indeed down.
The spanish site ( http://es.wordpress.com ) works fine and unique sites appears to be online.
Yes, wordpress.com is down so I am unable to update any blogs throuth wordpress.com. The blogs themselves are working though, just slow and can not be updated.
Wordpress.com main page is still down.
I have been trying since morning- and have not been able to either reach the log-in page. I cannot post on my blog till this problem gets resolved.

Yes, down.
The main page is down while DOS attacks are still being fended off. But everything is still running. If you have a blog on wordpress.com, you can login at:
yourblogname.wordpress.com/login
It is possible to still log into your blog if your blog is hosted on wordpress.com. Use yourblogname.wordpress.com/login
I have been trying to access wordpress.com for about 7 hours now, unfortunately I need to update my blog with Toy Fair 2008 info and am unable. I hope it is up soon so people can update their blogs again.

Yup! Down for me too. I noticed it when I went to lookup my API key for a plugin.

I don't know how many hours this is. I find I can access pages without a "prefix." before wordpress.com, but nothing with such a prefix.
