Yahoo! Finance to add Fox News video – sorry CNBC
Earlier this morning, the new CNBC web site launched. Not to be outdone, Yahoo! Finance has revealed that they will add videos from Fox News in an announcement later this week. I have always enjoyed using Yahoo Finance and my hope is that this just adds more value to their already robust financial site.
The bottom line (pardon the financial humor) is that video is hot, and these major sites are jockeying for position. Which horse will win? Not sure yet, but I am pretty sure that Fox News is larger in market share than CNBC and Yahoo Finance certainly already has their loyals.
From the release:
“This is our first portal deal,” says Jeremy Steinberg, Fox News head of digital sales and development. “We haven’t done anything like this before. It’s a huge opportunity to drive awareness for Fox News, FoxNews.com and our business content.”
The cable channel will provide clips from Your World with Neil Cavuto and Web-only video, including about 10 daily market reports, breaking news and investment and personal finance stories.
The ad-supported venture will be called Fox Business Now and will have guaranteed placement on the Yahoo Finance home page.
