Yahoo! Launches oneSearch, Opera exclusivity, mobile partnerships
Yahoo! has been very busy this morning it seems... first launching Yahoo! oneSearch, an entirely new search service designed to give consumers exactly what they want on their mobile device -- instant answers. oneSearch leverages Yahoo!'s deep experience, investment and expertise in search on the desktop as well as relationships with leading content providers to deliver an unmatched mobile search experience for consumers. With this launch Yahoo! expands its mobile Internet leadership.
Marco Boerries, senior vice president of connected life, Yahoo! says, "Yahoo! oneSearch changes the mobile search game by fundamentally improving the way consumers' access and use the Internet on their mobile phones. It delivers a mobile-optimized search experience that understands what consumers are looking for and presents answers directly in the results -- not just a list of Web links to PC sites. Yahoo! oneSearch delivers the right results with just one search."
In addition they announced partnerships with:
Opera names Yahoo! Exclusive Global Partner for Mobile Search
Jon S. von Tetzchner, co-founder and Chief Executive Officer, Opera Software said, "We are happy to announce this strategic cooperation with Yahoo! on mobile search. Opera has shipped more than 50 million mobile browsers and our experience is that search is one of the most important services to be included in a mobile browser. Therefore it has been important for us to find a partner that will work closely with Opera to optimize the user experience."
