YouTube Down Again? What’s Up With GOOG?

This seems to have been a tough week for Google and their servers. Twice this past week Google News was down. Google noted that the issues apparently had to do with planes and backed-up Web traffic. Now I’ve been noticing for a while now that YouTube isn’t acting correctly. Many pages don’t load, videos are displaying an error message and the search function provides the error message displayed below.
As usual, please report in if you are experiencing issues with YouTube (or any other Google service). I hope they can get everything fixed so that we can watch more cat videos!
The last YouTube outage occured on April 23rd. At least Twitter is up and stable.

august 29/30th the site youtube is giving on almost every video error, sick of trying to renew the page, is really down
August 27th/28th YouTube has been giving me a Network Timeout ‘Page Load Error’ (“The server at http://www.youtube.com is taking too long to respond.”) it was working fine August 27th in the morning but around 7:00 or so yesterday and this morning I haven’t been able to connect.
As of August 21, YouTube is down again. Here’s the message:
DNS error – Server cannot be found
For whatever reason, YouTube just refuses to show up. I just wanted to upload a new video on my backup channel, but I can’t do that right now. I understand that every website has little issues that needs to be tweaked and dealt with, but it seems to me that the site has either been hacked or something is obviously wrong with their network.
YouTube is down again.
It’s down again now in London. How come before when they did maintenance work you could still watch videos.

Well whataya know…it’s down again.
Well, Youtube went down quite abit durring the whole Iran thingy. Iran has blocked many outlets of information, includung youtube. When we talk about the power of YT and the GooG, We never mention the fact that they willingly go into their server and block anything any government asks them to block.
Odd timing for an odd fascist company…just saying.this isn’t the first time they poofed out durring times of info stress.
YouTube is down right now. From a reliable source I’ve heard that several Panamanian hacking groups have (semi-)successfully hijacked or hacked into the YouTube servers in attempts to hold private data ransom, but Google has shut down public connections to patch server vulnerabilities and fix several problems.
…and again YouTube is down. You wonder if there isn’t a larger issue at work here as the NYSE (New York Stock Exchange) was down for 40 minutes due to server malfunction. I’m sensing the end of the world!!!
Yep, Youtube’s down today. I see the following message:

Wow, that’s new.
LOL the website is down again… all i can see is 502 error and the pages that were playing are now showing the error – “An error occurred please try again” Youtube started becoming worse after google took it over

Looks like its gone down again tonight. It went down about 9pm PST when I left for my job and it is still down when I got home at 3am PST. Whatever issues they are having seems to be getting worse. I hope they fix it soon.
Last night (Sunday, May 17 — around 8:30 PM EST) Youtube was doing some maintenance. Since I was attempting to upload videos at the time, I decided to go see Star Trek and wait until they were done. Upon my return, MY ENTIRE WEBSITE WAS DOWN. I spent hours attempting to figure out what was wrong. As a Mac user, I don’t always see what is going on in the PC world. Anyway, I finally found a PC and it was showing an error message that when research had to do with a flash code that attempts to get a computer to fire up its camera. I sat there and thought, “what changed on my website between when I left for start trek and when I got home.” Only one thing changed, YOUTUBE. In the end, I had to go through my entire website and change the .html pages to .php pages and that seemed to solve the problem. This morning, everything seems to be resolved. I’ve been telling my business partner that it isn’t wise to have so much dependence on Youtube and Google. We actually have in our business plan a goal date of have zero dependence on Youtube and Google. I guess we can dream. I personally think Google has way too much power online. As a company, we look for ways to support anything that is new or up and coming that counters Google. I love what they do for me, but I feel that in a matter of years, they are going to have too much control and business will be beholden to them. It will be the companies who saw it coming and created different strategies that will survive the GOOGLE takeover.
