YouTube Down – February 24

FYI, it appears that YouTube is down. Please check our post from the last time YouTube was down with a variety of alternative suggestions. We will keep updating this post as we learn more and please report in if it’s down where you are as well.
The first reports via e-mail and comments came in about eight hours ago on the outage. I was unable to confirm at that time, but can confirm now.
- Sunday 2:30 Eastern – still down.
- Sunday 5:45 Eastern – BBC News is reporting that, "the outage was almost certainly connected to Pakistan Telecom and Asian internet service provider PCCW."

It comes up where I live, but you can’t watch many of the videos or do other things – for example, I can’t add a video as a favorite. I also can’t log out.
I live in the Southeastern US.

It’s back on here in the UK too, as of 9:27pm GMT.
At least in Florida. As of 4:10 Eastern, I tried again and it suddenly came right up. Home page, my channel, everything, as if nothing had happened. Whether it stays up remains to be seen.
Still wondering what happened.
I don’t think it’s a coincidence why youtube is down. Just last night that video of Larry Sinclair, and Barack Obama got REAL POPULAR! Basically overnight it had 1/2 million hits!
Since youtube is obviously Pro-Obama I don’t think they want it to get out before tonight’s debate. If you guys think i’m kidding go to WhiteHouse.com Larry Sinclair has already passed a polygraph, and drug test!

…in the North-West UK, although I was on YT this afternoon and worked perfect, it’s coming up with the error page now.
Been down for about 2 hours.

Maybe it’s down because of Pakistan Telecom operations on DNS.
It’s down in Mexico.

Youtube is also down in Chile and y some parts of Latin American and Europe (as many twitters say to me).

It’s down here too, as of 3:15 Eastern. I’ve been trying to get on since 1 PM. “Server is unavailable.”
