ZointsThis afternoon Zoints launched Zoints Synergy. What Digg is to news/blog posts, Zoints Synergy is for forum posts. The idea is that networks that use the Zoints social networking platform can now add Synergy to their forum allowing users to "move" posts up or down across not just their network, but to the full Zoints network as well.

You can learn more about the Zoints Synergy platform on their help forum. They have a few demos along with a chart showing a user who increased traffic by 10x when their forum post moved to the home page – similar to the Digg front page.

Zoints is an excellent idea. If they could increase the usability of their tool, I think it could be a huge winner for forums across the Web. I found it near impossible to find the software to install on the HTMLCenter forums.

I chatted with Zoints founder David Chapman who let me know that the Zoints social networking software is not required to use Zoints Synergy. He also noted that they are looking for VC funding, so contact David if you are interested.
